Alan is one of Britain’s most well known and best loved gardeners, having fronted the BBC’s hugely successful Ground Force and Gardeners’ World. He now presents his own daytime show for ITV, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, which continues to go from strength to strength. Other TV works have included How To Be A Gardener, Royal Gardeners, The Nature of Britain and the Chelsea Flower Show to name a few. He is currently filming for 2 new series both for ITV, All the Queens Horses and Seasons. Alan also presents a show on BBC Radio 2, Melodies For You. In early 2010 Alan co-presented ITV1’s Pop Star to Opera Star.
As well as all Alan’s TV accolades he has written two volumes of memoirs, over thirty gardening books, seven novels and he contributes regularly to BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine, Radio Times, The Daily Express and Sunday Express. Alan was appointed MBE in 2000, a Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire in 2001, when he was also immortalised by Madame Tussaud’s, and in 2004 received the Victoria Medal of Honour, the highest accolade in the British gardening world. He was appointed High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight from April 2008 until April 2009.
