Darren Kennedy
Darren Kennedy is a Television presenter, radio broadcaster and creator of online magazine www.helpmystyle.ie. Having lived in Toronto, Paris, Dublin and Bordeaux, Darren loves travel and is an avid trend spotter be it style, culture, technology or gadgets.
2011 was a fantastic year for Darren that saw him land his first BBC show as co-presenter of the brand new 13-part series ‘Project Parent' which aired on BBC 1, BBC 2 & CBBC. Darren also started appearing as a guest contributor on ITV's This Morning and in November he put his business acumen to great use as the host of Channel 4’s Global Entrepreneurship Week for C4 Online (not just a pretty face, this boy holds a first class honors degree in International Business & Languages).
Topping off a great year, Darren landed the dream job of jet-setting to some of the world's most exotic & adventurous locations as presenter of Channel 5’s new travel series ‘Holiday: Heaven on Earth’. From dining with the locals in Hong Kong, diving with turtles in Tenerife, surfing in San Diego or driving a Harley around the vineyards of California, it’s safe to say it’s an enviable gig.
U Magazine singled him out as one to watch for 2012.
Originally from Dublin, Darren is an accomplished presenter and producer and has interviewed a long list of celebrities including Tommy Hilfiger, Ronaldo, JLS and Louis Walsh.
Prior to making the move to the UK from his native Ireland, Darren cut his teeth as a presenter on radio and TV with the Irish National Broadcaster RTE. Renowned for getting up to all sorts of hi-jinks on the infamous Gerry Ryan radio show (The Irish equivalent to Jonathon Ross), Darren was also the reporter on RTE TV’s biggest ratings success weight-loss programme ‘Operation Transformation’. Between 2005 – 2008 he presented entertainment news RTE 2’s TTV. He’s also a familiar face on RTE One’s Four Live, Off The Rails and Xpose.
Widely regarded as one of the country's top style influencers, he was nominated Ireland's Most Stylish man in the VIP magazine awards. Darren also loves to write. He does a weekly column on fashion & style in the Irish Independent magazine where he has become a hit with readers for his straight talking, no-fuss approach to fashion in his weekly 'Style Dilemma' page. He also contributes to multiple National publications including Tatler, The Daily Mail, The Irish Times and The Examiner.
With a four year degree (and first-class honours) in International Business & Languages with French & Spanish under his belt, Darren went on to attend London’s premier fashion college, Central Saint Martin's.
Darren is an Ambassador for youth charity group 'BeLonG To' which provides vital help and support to young LGBT people in Ireland."
